"I grew up fishing Moriches Bay. I had my first boat at age twelve, a 16ft Grumman aluminum, with a 28HP Johnson Special! My father would trailer me out to the Forge River launch ramp, and let me go "have at it" for the day. The adventures, and the experiences I had, were priceless! I learned every inch of the bay, and put countless Fluke, Flounder, & Striped Bass in the cooler.
Since that day, I have never been without a boat, and have sailed thousands of trips through Moriches Inlet. I earned my captains license at age 18, later upgrading it to a 100 ton masters.
I've met many great people along the way, including having a chance to fish with, and learn from, the the late, great, Capt Ron Schlueter. Wrecks, and Codfish were always high on the list of things to to talk about with Capt. Ron! In the days before we had GPS on the boat, we made some incredible catches of Cod, & Seabass, finding and fishing wrecks, that were not common knowledge, just 15-20 short years ago. Today, I still eat, breathe, and sleep wreck fishing, always looking for that next big catch! Show more

Born and raised in Freeport, New York, I have been fishing Long Island’s beautiful local waters my entire life. It all started when my dad took me fishing for the first time at age 3. Since then I’ve been “hooked.”
Growing up on the water, I spent as much time as possible fishing from piers and boats. Eventually I became a mate on numerous charter boats, soaking in the natural splendor of the sea while learning all I could about charter fishing. As time went by, fishing became much more than a job or a hobby for me...it became my passion.
My fishing experiences extend well beyond Long Island’s waters and include many other fascinating locations as well. I’ve traveled up and down the eastern seaboard, from Maine to the Florida Keys, to ports in Hawaii, Mexico, Central America and throughout the Caribbean.
As the captain of Sea Rogue Fishing Charters I’m able to do something that few people are given the opportunity to do: work at something I love. Plus, I get to share my enthusiasm for the sea and my knowledge of fishing with my customers. I’m proud to say that I have authored numerous fishing articles for publications such as Nor’east Saltwater and The Fisherman and am a featured seminar speaker.
Hope to see you aboard!
